John and Carol have been breeding and showing purebred dogs for 15 years. During this time they have had two different breeds – Shar Peis and Shiba Inus. Their kennel is named after their first show dog, CH Cheasangs Sargeant Tibbs, CGC TDI (therapy dog). Sarge was the oldest Shar Pei to title in AKC. He was also Best Veteran Dog at nationals one year.

They obtained their first Shiba Inu, CH Prescott J Mr. T of Tibbs, 10 years ago. He was the first male shiba to get his title in Arizona, and went on to be ranked 23rd in the nation while he was being shown. Starting with Teddy as their foundation dog, they have bred many conformation, obedience and agility titled shibas. Recently, one of them was high scoring dog in obedience at the shiba nationals in California.

John has handled all of his own dogs to their conformation titles, except two Shar Peis prior to being accepted into AKC. He has also shown dogs for other owners putting points on most. He is an AKC certified CGC tester and at one time was a therapy dog tester for Therapy Dogs International, Inc. He has judged at a Shar Pei specialty and two all breed matches. John is currently the President of the Arizona Shiba Inu Association and a member of The National Shiba Club of America.
